CHARLES EARLY OF HARRINGTON, b. in England, Mar. 17, 1753; d. in Brighton, England, Sept. 5, 1829. He was a soldier and entered the foot guards in 1769, when he was Lord Petersham. In Feb. 1776, as Capt. of the 29th Reg. he arrived in Quebec and served in all operations of General Burgoyne, until the surrender at Saratoga, where he was Burgoyne's aid and carried his dispatches to England. He succeeded to Earldon in 1779. Afterwards he served in West Indies and was promoted to General in 1803.

Elisha Williams was colonel. His record shows service for 87 days commencing May 30, 1746, and ending Aug. 24, 1746.

He prob. served in French and Indian War enlisting in Aug. 1747, in Capt. Grosvenor's Co. of Conn. Militia. He marched to the relief of Ft. Williams Henry. Service -- 15 days.

SAMUEL MAXWELL HARRINGTON of Dover, Delaware, b. there Feb. 5, 1803; d. in Philadelphia, Pa., Nov. 28, 1865. He was graduated from Washington College, Charlestown, Md., in 1823. He was appointed Sec'ty of State of Delaware in 1829 and 1830, and was later selected to fill vacancy on the bench of the State Supreme Court, of which he became chief justice. Altogether he served as judge in Delaware 33 years and 10 months, from Jan. 1832 to his death, Nov. 28, 1865.
