Charles G. Batson began selling
Ford cars from his dealership on Miller Street in Conklin in 1921. The building was located at the site of the former Conklin Hotel. The building erected by Mr. Batson contained a large show room, general office space and a private office. The building also contained a parts department, a service department, and a large
storage area.

About 1940, Mr. Batson discontinued
his Ford car dealership and started selling Ford tractors and farm equipment. The
business closed following his death in 1953.

The advertisement above appeared in the June 25, 1925 edition of Motor Age
magazine. The ad for Lyon Auto Parts Control shows the inside of the Charles G. Batson Ford dealership after he had
moved into his new building.
