In addition to operating
Conklin’s funeral home, C. F. Benton and his wife also sold furniture and floor coverings. They carried a full line of furniture, carpet and linoleum. In addition,
they also carried china and glassware. If they did not have an item in stock, they would order it for their
customer.
Mrs. Benton continued to
operate the business following her husband’s death in 1926.
