The article in the July 31, 1931, Coopersville Observer
states,
“Another of the old
time businessmen of Conklin is William Asman. He has been connected with the business life of the village for thirty-two years
and in that time has watched the wheels of progress roll their slow but inexorable way through the affairs of the village.
Mr. Asman handles the McCormick
line of farm machinery, choosing this product twenty-eight years ago and has never had cause to regret his choice. The trade
territory supplied by Mr. Asman covers a wide range and his customers and his friends, repeating their orders as time works
its way and makes the purchase of new and more up-to-date implements imperative.
Here may also be purchased
any thing in the way of garden or farm tools, binder twine, oils and gas and a multitude of things connected with the mechanical
side of farming.”
