The family of Johann Theobald and Elisabetha (Stutzmann) Omlor came to America in 1834.  They settled in Ohio for ten years. Their children were adults and some were already married when they left Zweibrucken, Germany. When the land in Michigan was surveyed and for sale, they moved north.  The spelling of their last name became Americanized, based on the pronunciation, changing from Omlor to Umlor.   [From Charlene Rasch]
