McNitt School 1926

The original McNitt school was located on the southwest corner of Gooding Street and 40th Avenue.  It was a one-room log cabin structure.  After several years, a larger school was needed, so the district built a new building located diagonally across the corner on the northeast corner.  It was a traditional, wood frame, one-room school house.  It contained Grades kindergarten – 8th.  It closed in 1961.  Edward Kelly, Jr was the last to teach there.  The school building was later demolished and a poll barn was built in its place.
