Mike M. and I flew to Burns to hunt the wiley Sage Rat before
the Alfalfa grew too high. We dodged thunderstorms, got wet,
got even, got stranded, got home, got in trouble. Got Fun ?

In front of Madras FBO |
|
Beautiful on this side of the Cascades |
This is the Twin Oaks Cherokee 140/180 loaded for Sage Rat.
The valley was socked-in with a 3-4 thousand foot ceiling right
up to the cascades and so we couldn't get under the overcast.
This situation is a good time to have an IFR rating.

Mike negotiated us a room in a Ramada Inn ? |

My first "Airport Car". Madras FBO is great ! |
Here I might put my favorite picture of me involved in my hobby.

DAWN PATROL |
|
A turbine crop duster overflew the field before it landed the next morning. |
This turbine agro overflew the runway just as we were
climbing in the Cherokee and then he quickly landed.
As we took of he gave a PIREP on the CTAF that the
cascades were clear.
