This web site documents the build log for my RV8a and chronicles my general aviation flying.
On this site, I'm going to talk about the construction of my RV8a. I'll give a bit of history on the subject itself,
as well as some background on how I got involved in it. I will link or repeat any useful tips or techniques I have found
from others, as well as any tips or tricks I've acquired through the build process.

Finished left wing carcass
The left wing is finished except for the aileron and flap (and the bottom skin of course). The tank is finished,
however, I still have not pressure tested it. I have been at this stage since before Christmas and have done almost
nothing since. Recently I have cleco'd together the right wing leading edge and gas tank and currently I am still fiddling
with the rib flanges of the gas tank.

Inspection by EAA technical counsler
Actual date of Inspection: November xx 2007
I had a visit today from Don Wentz from the EAA
chapter 105 to inspect my left gas tank and wing before I riveted the back on the gas tank and the top skins on the wing.
He recommended that I add more goo over the rivet head on the inside of the tank ribs and that I add an additional hole along
the top corner of the rib to improve air venting while filling the gas tank.
