This is a draft proposal. Rules and guidelines described herein may change. Ankur BoD reserves the right to modify any or all rules/guidelines. This  is a voluntary project and future of the project depends on availability of resources.

Project Owner: Ankur, International (www.ankur-international.org) of Portland, Oregon, USA.

Project Duration: Ongoing (as funds and volunteers are available).

Project Funding: All funds will be collected as voluntary donations from individual/corporate donors from all over the world including Bangladesh.

Volunteer Team Organization: Ankur International, a 501(3)c charitable organization based in Portland, Oregon, USA will own this project, Project1971. Interested people from across the globe will be able to participate. World major cities MAY have a committee to assist. There will be a Board consisting of people living in Bangladesh with reputation of working on similar projects. The formation of the Board is in progress.

Roles and Responsibilities: Each member of Project1971 committee will work to create awareness of the goal of the project and play an active role. Any member can bring a proposal for approval through voting or discussion. More details on the regulations/responsibilities will follow.

Recipient Selection Processes:  Anyone can propose a recipient name with the details of present conditions and past history. The following information like the details of the freedom fighter, sector, commander’s name, current address, current financial condition, current state of family members etc will be highly valuable for decision making. The Project1971 team jointly will decide the level of assistance and category.

Project1971 team will NOT discriminate recipients for religion, gender, political beliefs, cast or locality.

Fund Allocation Guideline: Based on the recommendation and availability of the funds, Project1971 team will decide the terms and conditions of the allocation. Since the funds will be collected from individual donors, there will be no guarantee or commitment of future funds. Even committed funds may not be available in case of donors’ premature discontinuation. The funds collected for this purpose will not be directed or used for ANY other purposes other than assisting the needs of affected freedom fighters and their immediate families (spouse, children and parents).
