Farhana Mannan Kabir:
Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh (HSC ‘86), I moved to the US in 1990. Currently I live in Washington with my husband and two children.  The highlight of the past decade of my life has been being a full time mother, which got me involved in the local school PTAs and volunteering regularly in various school based projects.  Before embracing motherhood in its full glory, I was a software engineer by profession and worked for Oracle Corp.  My education never seems to follow a straightforward path as family always comes first. I started out in the dept. of CSE in BUET, but received my undergraduate degree from Purdue University (1993).  In the same token, I started grad school in Stanford University (1998), and after a long hiatus, I’m currently in the process of finishing it up here in WSU. I am privileged to be a part of Ankur International as it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives in a way, which just by myself as an individual wouldn’t even be a remote possibility.

Tayfun Mithu:
After passing HSC in 1982, received BSS and MSS in International Relations from Dhaka University. Worked in International Food Policy Research Institute (IFRI) before migrating to Canada in 1992 with her husband. Moved to USA in 2000. Currently living in Vancouver, Washington. Spare times are utilized for volunteering Ankur’s projects.

Motahar Ahmed:
Graduated from the Department of EEE, BUET, in 1991 [HSC ‘84] and obtained his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, USA in 1994. He then joined Intel Corporation in December1995 and moved to Portland, Oregon. Now he is deep rooted with both Intel and Portland and completely unable to relocate to anywhere else. He has an 8-year-old son, Sheehan, who recently discovered 5th dimension which he calls “space”. His rationale is that you can NOT measure “Space” using the other four dimensions, and thus this 5th dimension is absolutely necessary. Sheehan and his mom, Urmee Hossain, a graduate of Dhaka Medical College, are equally tired of Motahar’s devotion to Rabindra Sangeet and Lalon Geeti.

Tania Morshed (Lopa):

Tania Morshed was born and brought up in Rajshahi University Campus, Bangladesh. She went to Rajshahi University School (S.S.C 1983, H.S.C. 1985) and completed B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1991 from Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Rajshahi (now known as R.U.E.T.). Living in U.S.A. since 1994, she finished M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999 from Santa Clara University, California. Now lives in Portland, OR with husband and a son. While raising her 9 years old son, she tries to change some lives through Ankur International.

Shamsul Abedin:
A BUET graduate from EC department (known as 86 Batch, passing year 1993), ex-cadet from Faujdarhat Cadet College, Ctg, (27th batch, passed in 1986). Received his MS in Engineering form ASU ’99, working for Intel Corporation since ’99 and living in Portland, OR since then.
