Fort Wayne Dance For All
Held at the beautiful Grand Wayne Convention
Center in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. Thursday kicked off with the always fun and exciting, WELCOMING
PARTY. Over 100 line and fixed pattern partner dances were demonstrated. Classes included Swing, 2-Step, Cha-Cha,
Clogging, Hustle, Salsa, Lindy, and NTA. Our own Pat Esper won first place in Original
Choreography with his line dance IDK!!
Hoosier Dance Fest, Saturday, April 10th. American Legion, Warsaw,
IN. Hosted by Bev Carpenter. Pam & Eagle kicked things off with their line
dance I'm Yours and a partner dance, Perhaps We Should Tango Some More. Tim Hand and Alice
Daughtery were up next. They taught the following line dances: Walkin in the Rain, Let's Chill, Alligator
Walk, and Tennessee Waltz Suprise. Later, they taught two partner dances: Walkin in the Rain (based on the line dance
with the same name) and Slow Rain. Babe and Judy Woodward taught the line dance Bobbi
with an i, and a partner dance, Time to Go. Garth Bock was our DJ and taught three line dances
as well: Gotta Get To You, Mentiras, and American Saturday Night. Bev Carpenter taught Broken Stones and Just Enough
Rope. Carol Schwartz gave a short talk on the benefits to dancers of membership in the National Teachers
Association (NTA) and pointed out that you don't have to be an instructor to enjoy the classes they offer. Carol and
her husband Bob were celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary. Congratulations!
