The Glorious Mysteries

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful.

Enkindle in them the Fire of Your love.

Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,

and You shall renew the face of the earth.

Blessed Mary, Gate of Heaven, pray for us.  May our trust in the risen Christ drive out cowardly fear, and may our fidelity to his mission drive out laziness.  Help us reach the goal of heaven, and help our efforts to bring others there with us. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit and the grace of prayer, may we be holy apostles of Christ’s love.  We ask this through your intercession, through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Apostle’s Creed:  I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.  Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.

The First Glorious Mystery—The Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ

Reflection from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

(657)           The empty tomb and the linen cloths lying there signify in themselves that by God’s power Christ’s body had escaped the bonds of death and corruption.  They prepared the disciples to encounter the Risen Lord

Amen.

 1.  “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy."  (Jn 16:20)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

3.  But at daybreak on the first day of the week they took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  (Lk 24:1)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

4. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.  (Mt 28:2)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

5.  “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.  (Mt 28:5-6)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

6.  “He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  (Mt 28:6)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

7.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.'  (Mt 28:7)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

8.  Then they went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet overjoyed.  (Mk 16:8)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

 9.  "Death is swallowed up in victory.  Where, O death, is your victory?  Where O death, is your sting?"  (1 Cor. 15:54-55)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

10.  The sting of death is sin,...But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  (1 Cor. 15:56,57)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of Hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.  Amen

Pray for us, Mary, Gate of Heaven, that faith in the Risen Christ will drive out our cowardice.

The Second Glorious Mystery—The Ascension of Jesus into Heaven

Reflection from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

(668)           Christ’s Ascension into heaven signifies his participation, in his humanity, in God’s power and authority.  Jesus Christ is Lord:  he possesses all power in heaven and on earth.  He is “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion,” for the Father “has put all things under his feet.”  …In him human history and indeed all creation are “set forth” and transcendently fulfilled.

Amen.

1.  Then he led them (out) as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them.  (Lk 24:50)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

2.  Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”  (Mt 28:18)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

3.  “Go, therefore make disciples of all the nations.”  (Mt 28:19)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

4.  “Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”  (Mt 28:19)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

5.  “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”  (M28:20)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

6.  “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.”  (Mk 16:16)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

7.  “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”  (Mt 28:20)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

8.  As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven.  (Lk 24:51)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

9. When he had accomplished purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high...  (Heb. 1:3)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

10.  "In my Father's house there are many dwelling places.  If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?"  (Jn. 14:2)   Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.

Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of Hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.  Amen

Pray for us, Mary, Gate of Heaven, as we fulfill Christ’s command to evangelize.

The Third Glorious Mystery—The Descent of the Holy Spirit

Reflections from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

(731)           On the day of Pentecost when the seven weeks of Easter had come to an end, Christ’s passover is fulfilled in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, manifested, given,, and communicated as a divine person: of his fullness, Christ, the Lord, pours out the Spirit in abundance.

Amen.

1.  When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. (Acts 2:1)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

2.  And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were.  (Acts 2:2)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

3.  Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them.  (Acts 2:3)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

4.  And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.  (Acts2:4)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

5.   Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed to them.  (Acts 2:14)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

6.  “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.”  (Acts 2:38)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

7.   Those who accepted his message were baptized; and about three thousand persons were added that day.  (Acts 2:41)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

8.    For those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.  For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear,...  (Rom. 8:14-15)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

9.  Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, enkindle in them the fire of you love.  (Pentecost Alleluia)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

10.  Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created; and you shall renew the face of the earth.  (Pentecost Alleluia)  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen

Pray for us, Mary, Gate of Heaven, that we allow the Holy Spirit to overcome us.

The Fourth Glorious Mystery—The Assumption of our Blessed Mother into Heaven

Reflections from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

(966)  The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son’s Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians:  “In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life…

Amen.

3.  For stern as death is love, relentless as the netherworld is devotion.  Deep waters cannot quench love, nor floods sweep it away.  (Song 8:6-7) Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope!  To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this valley of tears.  Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary:

Pray for us, O holy  Mother of God

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray, O God, Whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise.  Through the same Christ, our Lord.  Amen.

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast  into Hell, Satan and all the other evils spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, (R) Have mercy on us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, (R) Have mercy on us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, (R) Have mercy on us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, (R) Pray for us.

Consecration Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite love, broken by my ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still—accept the consecration that I make to you of all that I am and all that I have.  Take every faculty of my soul and body, draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Heart, and there, as I can bear the lesson, teach me Your Blessed ways.  Amen.

Consecration Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and tender Mother of all people, I consecrate myself to you and to your Immaculate Heart, and recommend to you my family, my country, and the whole human race.  Please accept my consecration, dearest Mother, and use me as you wish, to accomplish you designs upon the world.  O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, rule over me, and teach me how to allow the Heart of Jesus to rule and triumph in me and around me, as it has ruled and triumphed in you.  Amen.

Memorare:

Remember, O Most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.  Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee O Virgin of virgins my mother, to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.  Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen."

With this Rosary, we bind our children, grandchildren, and loved ones to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
