Beyond Good and Evil -PS2
This is a fun adventurous RPG
The learning curve isn't too bad; I was playing smoothly in 15 minutes or so.
Beyond Good and Evil has a great story line, and you get to have a boat right off the
bat, and later you get to fly around. I actually found myself too high when I was practicing how to do it. I found myself (I
am scared of heights, it get to my head) getting anxious. I was saying Oh My Gosh! And then it happened again. ..SO fun.
You go around taking pictures of different creatures and puzzle solve to progress through
the game. The puzzles are not so hard that the fun factor leaves you. I liked the fact that if you died, you would
start from the room where you died; you don't have to go through the whole section again. The game has many saved areas
so the stress factor is small.
It has been said, “It is the greatest
game that no one has played” I agree it is one of my favorites.
I love RPG’s and sometimes to get a variety out of my game play I will play a
Zelda or Mario game. Here you will have a unique experience in this RPG;
I will always remember playing this game. It was so different from anything I have ever
played; it is not a long game but it is a fun game from start to finish.

Dragon Quest VIII
Didn’t know
what to expect and was pleasantly surprised.
This is my first D.Q. game I have played so I was
surprised there was no place to save before fighting a boss. I found myself leveling up even more than I usually do, which
is saying something, because I level up more than I probably need to in any other RPG.
I did not want to die and loose half my money so
I walked around the beautiful world fighting. A good thing the makers did was give you purpose in walking around the area
you were in, because you could find chests that had (many times) useful items. So leveling up was not as labored because you
wanted to see what was beyond the hill, or corner. Every section of the world was interesting to explore and the quests were
fun and did not seem tedious. The story line was excellent I never thought, “why
am I going here or there?’ I can see playing another D.Q. game in the future.
I liked the upbeat music that generally played and the music would change appropriately for the theme. I tried not
to deduct too much from the total score for having to make stuff. For instance, I never made anything for the mouse. My personal
taste would be to fight, make my money and go buy the armor, shield, etc. You could, but the better items you would have needed
to make. I did not even try fighting in the monsters arena until I was about 80% done. I do not do much when it comes to “on
purpose extra fighting” in any RPG, so when I checked it out, I had recently bought the guide for my collection, and
looked up some monsters to fight; I never wanted to go past my two sets of monsters. I could see how if I had checked out
the monster arena earlier the regular fighting would have been much easier. If you want to try a DQ. game out, this would
be the gem to play. In closing, I am giving the game play a 9 because of the
making of the items. If I did not have the guide, I would have thought it was too convoluted to make any sense of what to
make over something else. As I said earlier, I did not get the guide until I was about 75% done. Then I started making things,
but before that, I just did not want to spend the time using an item that maybe I shouldn’t have for something better
down the road. You definitely get your moneys worth with this game. I spent well over 100 hours on this game but if you chose
to do all there was to offer you would spend so much more. I didn’t fight the dragons! It meant that I would have to
make more stuff and as I said, it isn’t my favorite thing to do. Even in not doing all the things that are offered in
this game, I am very much satisfied very happy I played it.

Final Fantasy X-2
Had to use the guide more than I liked
The game is mission based and so for me it was a unique experience. I remember the world
from Final Fantasy X, so I didn’t have to learn the layout. I liked the story line, it moved things along fine for me.
When I realized what I did, or did not do, would change my percentage, and alter what would happen in the game etc. I didn’t
like it. I play a lot of role-playing games, and I put so many hours into a game to be strong and looking at every inch of
the world. If I put the time in I don’t like being penalized for talking to someone to soon, or to late, or the wrong
answer! So, I was always going back to the guide to make sure my percentage wasn’t any lower. I already new I didn’t
have a perfect score early on and that bugged me. I did go into this game with a certain amount of expectation since I had
such an extremely fun time with Final Fantasy X. For the most part I had
a pretty good time playing it, but I would have liked to not of had the percentage element in the game.

Final Fantasy X - PS2
Unfolds into a beautiful game
I love role-playing
games, and this game was so much fun. Final Fantasy X is a huge game with a strong story line, and options that make the game
that much better. If you like sports games, you can play Blitz ball for a long time; it is a game unto itself.
If you like fighting
games, you could level up your characters in the monster arena.
I do not care for
either one and concentrated on the rpg part of the game play. At first, I was overwhelmed at the sphere grid, but if you don’t
think about it, and start moving around the grid you will start to fill up all those empty areas. For the most part, I do
not mind leveling up since that is what you do in role-playing games.
The opening is
the best I have ever seen in a game. The world was huge and after a while you get the ship and have freedom to go anywhere in the world. I loved everything
about this game; the game play, story line, characters, music, the way it looked and the voice acting.
If you enjoy role-playing games then this will be an easy one to like.
I think this is a perfect game. I do not know what you would
do to make it better; it is that wonderful.
