Shigeru Miyamoto (game designer) is the man who created Mario,
Donkey Kong and Zelda, (top 5 ofmy favorite games) recently did an interview with Chris Morris from CNN Money
June 3rd.
He said some interesting things one of them is that what he misses, “are games you can pick up and
play.” The next generation console called Nintendo Revolution, hopes to accomplish just that.
He goes on to say “the Revolution will use cutting edge
technology, but it’s ultimately about how that technology is used. We asked ourselves ‘why would a family need
or want to have a gaming console?’ The answer is what’s driving development of the Revolution.”
Doesn’t that sound delicious!
While Miyamoto insists there will be advanced graphics etc he doesn’t want it to be the focus of the
system. He wants unique games not just a huge game.
He starts talking about the different systems say:
“Most of what you’re seeing are not event he first projections of games. The’re just shiny
computer graphics. They’re things anyone using a computer can do. ..It’s how we’re going to use the technology
that separates us. What we want to do is different – and we’re happy with the road we’re taking. When you
have a Revolution, you’re not going to have the same experience as you would with the other home consoles.”
I will buy this up right when it comes out; I purposely did not buy the Game Cube, (space reasons) so I would
be able to buy the next generation system. Right now, I have set up the Snes, N-64, Ps1 and the Ps2 on this nifty adapter I
bought I Love it! I have a place for the Revolution to sit right now.
