James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement:

" We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".

Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!

Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law . An oligarchy the rule of few over many.

DID YOU KNOW?

The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said:
"Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."

How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional?

Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was built on.

Super Email, I agree whole-heartedly! I have always wondered how one atheist can do so much damage to our moral code in this country.

I agree with you about everyone having the freedom of their religion, that is the beauty of our country. What I have found frustrating is every religion is acceptable EXCEPT for Christianity. You can't have a Christmas tree in schools, but you can have a menorah. We can't do a flag folding at retirements because some of the folds have religious symbolism behind them and for fear of offending some attending the ceremony they can't do it, even for someone who has dedicated their life to 20-30+years in the service fighting for that very right. For me that e-mail was something nice for recognition for the Christianity aspect of things. I think it is great that other religions are out there, but last Christmas I said merry Christmas to someone at the store and this lady told me I shouldn't say that, and I just stared right back and said it again to her. The thing about Christians is they figure "oh it will pass" and by keeping standing down, they are getting mowed over.  I am so tired of Political Correct. In fact it is my 1st amendment right to not be. I don't say things to hurt people or offend them, but if my simple beliefs offend someone, sorry, I'm not changing them, nor will I stop saying them (since it's done in a respectful way) :)  You are right not everything has to be polarized, it would be nice for people to be accepting and realize how lucky they are to be able to vocalize their thoughts and beliefs!
