This is why you don't attach the bottom skin until the very last day before your inspection. Here I am drilling
out the holes to1/8" for final riveting of the formers.
I made my own firewall and during this process I found out how hard it is to get this stuff to bend with the flanging
pliers so after consulting with Tony Spicer I decided to drill out the flanges and simply bend them over. It worked
great!
A Dremel with a fiber cutting wheel worked well to cut out the hole for the fuel tank filler spout feature.
Here is the filler spout feature all riveted together.
During the process of assembling the front and rear fuselage I would turn the whole assembly on its side to get better
access. I could do it by myself if needed but I prefered to get help.
I picked up an 18" long 1/8" drill bit from Boeing Surplus and this thing has come in handy several times. This
is how I drilled out the holes in the spar box.
