Both Christmas dinners are up and I just want to say that even though it is well after the original time, it isn’t due to the lack of importance. I was in the glow from both parties for weeks and the memory of them are not far from me. I had a constant smile at both, and had the best of times.  And for the people that were part of these parties I thank you. As I said before on this page, January had flown by with a purposeful break from pictures to my 2-week headache, (nerve pain) and February was taking up so much of my time with work and me doing my work out again; Yes, I have a treadmill again! FUN FACTS     During the Napoleonic Wars, Napoleon’s soldiers bivouacked in the chapel of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, where Leonardo’s Last Supper is located. The soldiers used the painting in target practice, shooting at the central figure of Christ’s head. Fact: Under Clinton, half way through his presidency in 1996 the poverty rate was 13.7% Under President Bush, half way through his presidency in 2004, it was 12.7% Under Clinton in 1996 he allotted a whopping $191 billion for poverty entitlements. May 16, 1994 U.S. unveils an economic sanction proposal U.S defense secretary William Parry characterizes the situation as a very substantial near term crisis. June 1994 Former President Jimmy Carter travels to North Korea and negotiates a deal with North Korean president Kim El Sung agrees to freeze the nuclear program if the U.S.takes sanctions off the table. June 22, 1994 Former President Bill Clinton accepts Kim’s proposal, and agrees to enter into another round of negotiations. August 31, 1994 Kim admits that North Korea has used plutonium in the past but claims only for civilian purposes. October 1994 Former President Clinton signs an accord stating that the U.S. led international consortium will help North Korea replace their reactors with two light water reactors if they freeze their nuclear program. March 18, 1996 Hans Blitz tells the IAEA that North Korea is not cooperating. August 24, 1998 the chairman of the Joint Chief’s Hugh Shelton he tells congress the U.S. will have at least three years warning that North Korea had a long range intercontinental ballistic missile. August 31, 1998 just one week later North Korea fires a medium range ballistic missile, the typodongwon (sp) over the island of Japan. July 2000 Secretary of State Madeline Albright meets with North Korean’s Foreign Minister to persuade the rouge nation to stop selling missile technologies to other nations. North Korea demands One Billion Dollars. The talk ends with a stalemate. During a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kim Jon Il reportedly promises to end his countries program in exchange for assistance for satellite launches. September 27, 2000 U.S. North Korean talks resume in New York. October 24, 2000 Secretary Albright concludes a two day visit to North Korea to meet with Kim Jon Il.
