Why buy Organic?

Organic Foods are foods that are produced using methods that do not involve modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Organic foods do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMO), and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or checmical food additives. Producers of organically certified food products must meet a strict, regulated list of requirements to maintain certification and requries a great amount of time and money.

The US Department of Agriculture oversees this regulation and certification.

Although there is great controversy regarding the authenticity of this certification process, the basic principles used in its practice are ideal for the environment, animal well-fare, the farmer, and the consumer.

Most all of the foods offered at All Things Food are organic. Yet, some food items are not available organically through some of our suppliers. And some organic choices might not be the most responsible choice if they are coming from locations whose organic standards are not regulated or enforced. All Things Food will make every effort to research the companies and their practices to make sure that our foods are sourced as responsibly as we can locate them.

Our Producers are not requried to become "certified" organic, however we encourage them to become familiar with the requirements to achieve more natural and sustainable practices.

All in-store products are clearly labeled and defined as part of our mission to provide you, the consumer, with full disclosure regarding the foods you buy.
