He built a new saw and grist mill on the site of the old Parker Mill, prob. before 1790. He was among early settlers purchasing land in Adams, Mass., most of whom were from Rhode Island and Quakers. Some settled Stafford's Hill called New Providence in 1777, the growth of which was very slow. He resided there in 1790.
Nicodemus, (Herenton), b. prob. Rhode Island about 1755; m. Tabitha. They resided at North Adams, Mass., in 1800 and 1810 as per census, where they made land deed in 1805. In 1772 he received land deed there from Francis and wife Dorcas Brown, his parents.
He served in Rev. War as private in Lieutenant John Kilborn's Company Co. Simond's Regiment. He enlisted Oct. 14, 1780, and discharged Oct. 16, 1780. The company marched into Vermont on an alarm of Oct. 12, 1780.
Nathaniel, b. before 1780, prob. in Rhode Island; m. 1798 Avis. They bought land in Adams, Mass., 1798 and received deed for land there in 1782, from Francis Harrington, prob. his father, and who made certain reservations for his wife, Dorcas Brown. He sold land there in 1802 and 1805 and had left Adams, Mass. before 1810.

July 27, 1777 he was lieutenant of Capt. Jesse Stone's Company. Col. John Cushing's Regiments, and marched to Bennington, Vt., by orders of Brigadier General Warner. He served in Civil office in his home town as Assessor, Supervisor, and Tax Collector for Highways, School Committee, and Selectman. In 1798 and for 25 years thereafter he was paid by his Town for board and nursing Keziah Morse, a poor person.
